海資系副教授劉商隱魯胡納大學海洋學系教授Terney Pradeep Kumara與USJP教授Kamal 共同指導斯里蘭卡籍學生Aravinda 利用分子鑑種，分析斯國港口與市場的鯊魚組成，發現有零星的禁捕鯊魚物種出現，且物種組成反應出當地較常使用的漁具漁法，此研究已發表於Fisheries Reseach。
